As the one and only In-Situ stakeholder that implementing the concept of Public Archaeology, Padmasana play important role in the Muarajambi Temple region.
We act as agent for the preservation of the region, and act as a driving force for increasing village creative economy, intermediary in socializing and conflict mediation between stakeholders and local people.
Also act as an observer that routinely monitor all kind of activities undertaken in the Muarajambi Temples Site, covering an area of 3981 hectares.
In short we could say that our scope of work covering all population of local people who live in Muarajambi which consist around 3,000 peoples.
A local non-profit foundation located in Muarajambi Temples Compound Site area.
Muarajambi Temples Compound Site area, the most extensive Archaeological Site in South East Asia. As a comparison, the size of Muarajambi is twenty the size of Borobudur Temple in Central Java, and twice the size of Angkor Wat in Cambodia.
Padmasana are collaboration between several organizations :
Generally found at the bottom of the river and collected by the villagers. Through persuasion, people are willing to give his collection to the Padmasana, with secure tenure such objects will not be transferred to anyone without the permission of the owner, before the building of the museum village that belongs to the village.
Artifacts are then stored by Padmasana, documented and classified based on the shape, dimensions / size, location of the discovery, and approximate age. The artifacts that inventoried are:
- Coins with Chinese characters. Collected more than 2000 coins, which as many as 1293 coins of 41 reign have been identified, with the most coins originated from the reign of Tang Kao Tsu (618-686 AD) as many as 141 pieces. While the oldest was found 1 coin from the Han dynasty (186-182 BCE western han) based on the testimony of Dr. Edward McKinnon.
- Manuscript in the form of slabs / rolls of tin, with Grantha script and Old Malay, 51 slabs. The newly identified as many as two slabs, through the aid of epigraphy EFEO researchers, Prof. Pierre Yves Manguin and Dr. Arlo Griffiths.
- Ceramic shards and pottery glazed with various motifs/ decor.
- Various artifacts made of metal and stone.
The re-establishment performing arts theater Melayu, Tonel. Tonel is the art of drama Melayu with the main story of Dul Muluk. This performance is similar to Ketoprak in Java, but with the language, music instruments and traditional clothing of Malay. This art is displayed on the big days or folk festival in the village Muarajambi.
Fostering Malay arts groups such as Hadrah Rebana, Rebana Siam, mask dance arts group that is part of the cultural attractions.
Through shared learning activities for school age children, Sekolah Alam Raya Muara Jambi (SARAMUJA) with non-formal methods, performed in the temple area (outdoor). Content delivered include local wisdom, history of Muarajambi region, preservation of archaeological remains and the environment.
Fostering the groups of souvenirs artisan including: screen printing, how to make a unique bracelet and necklace and woven pandanus souvenirs.
Training local tour guide in accordance with the standards of competence guides covering ethics tourist services, coordinating a group, preparation homestay accommodation, foreign language services.
Digital multimedia Training, covering :
- Videography : Introduction to camera, lighting, sound, script writing, storyboard, non linear editing, motion control, color grading dan visual effect.
- Graphic Design: Introduction of vector editing application, raster, blending and retouch, digital printing, color separation, offset printing
- 3D Animation: introduction of 3D aplication, object modelling, rigging, texturing and animating
- Web development: introduction of blog platform, CMS Joomla dan Wordpress
Through business unit of Indie Production House, Macro Film International, the resulting products such as: Documentary video of tourist destination, TVC, Personal Branding, Videoclip, Wedding documentation, Simulation and 3D modelling animation
Tour package and local guide services, consulting service and assitance services of local tourism program.
Organizing local events, such as: festivals, small exhibition, village cinema (outdoor).
Souvenir/merchandising, producing : T-shirt, pin, traditional beverages, necklace and bracelet ethnic souvenir made of sebalik sumpah, handicrafts made of woven pandanus.
Food Court, manage by PPL-MJ, on the bank of river as the only free wifi food court in the area of Muarajambi Temple.
Padmasana has good reputation in Jambi. Clients include Governments, corporations and State-Owned Enterprises.
Padmasana dominated the production of all the video profile of tourist destinations in the province of Jambi.
Profit can be allocated to a gear and 50% cash propping up the organization.
During the holidays, like new year or hari raya, Padmasana could organise the festival by getting compensation from the visitor's ticket sales.
Small scale because of lack of capital and production volume.
Scale is limited, because the majority of visitors to the area were domestic tourists.
